Strength not to Throw it Away
6 I said, “Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest. 7 I would flee far away and stay in the desert; 8 I would hurry to my place of shelter, far from the tempest and storm.” Psalm 55:6-8
Lord, we pray for those who desire to escape. Lord, many of us are experiencing extreme weight like never. The responsibility is great, and the emotional tension is greater. Loved ones have been subtracted! Work has been added! Expectations have multiplied! Profits have been divided.
Greed and Selfishness walk down our streets. While Kindness and Mercy have been quarantined. A steady shower of hatred falls on us and now rests as a gentle mist throughout the land. Its presence makes each day harder to encounter, and the end of the day the only moment of peace.
We pray at this moment for those who have asked for and or have attempted to find relief through any form of escape. We ask that you guide us to those who are hurting and thinking of harming themselves. God stay their hand and steady their minds. Remove anything in reach that can be harmful and replace them with things that will be healing.
Let them find comfort in your Spirit, and mercy from your earthen vessels. Let us be attentive to each other, offering shelter through fellowship, and relief through expressions of love and strength through words of encouragement.
Let us all find resolve in you!
