ARMOR BEARERS The armor-bearers are carefully selected to serve in a wide array of tasks to support the pastors in duties needed to further the ministry of First Met. Position by appointment only. Michael & Linda Ford
BUILDING & GROUNDS The Building & Grounds ministry oversees all activities associated with the operation, maintenance, safety, and security of all buildings, grounds, furnishings, and equipment owned by the church. Routine maintenance of landscaping around the church buildings is overseen by this ministry to provide a safe and sanitary environment for our staff, members, and guests. Upkeep of the grounds by: weeding, lawn mowing (on a rotating basis in summer months), shrub trimming, sweeping driveway, trash removal etc.
CHOIR – TEEN The Teen Choir is open to students, grades 6th-12th, who have a desire to pursue music in a church setting. No experience is necessary to be a member of this group! We will be singing throughout the year in the worship services as well as participating in special holiday services. Our goal with the Teen Choir is to take the passion they already have for music and cultivate it by showing the students how different styles can be used within the church. 7th – 12th grade Crystal Singleton
CHOIR – YOUTH The Children’s Choir program at First Met offers children opportunities to lead worship through music. Choir members learn a wide variety of music of the church, they grow in faith, and they develop vocal and musical skills to open up a lifetime of joyful music-making. Through choir, children connect with one another, with their faith, and with their community. 3 yr old – 6th grade Lucy Solomon
COLLEGE/CAREER (PLUGGED) The college ministry is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of college-aged young adults (18-25). We do this through a wide variety of experiences that help college-age students nurture a relationship with Christ in a loving community as they navigate the challenges of this life stage.Jeanine Wilson
CONSTRUCTION Construction management provides a project’s owner(s) with effective management of the project’s schedule, cost, quality, safety, scope, and function. To mobilize volunteers to use their skills, talents, and time in response to construction projects that will further God’s kingdom. CULINARY The Kitchen / Culinary Ministry supports the local church events by providing, preparing, and serving nutritious meals or refreshments while promoting a warm environment of hospitality and fellowship. Providing food for the church community can sometimes be a daunting task, but we are always encouraged and inspired by the words of Scripture that impel us to serve: Matt. 10:45 says: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but, but to serve.” Natisha Fowler
CWF The purpose of the Christian Women’s Fellowship is to foster spiritual growth among women. It is responsible for identifying and addressing issues that confront and challenge Christian women in today’s society. For more growth opportunities, please review our CWF outreach activities. DEACON AND DEACONESS Their responsibility is to care for the needs of others through their assigned family groups. Care includes wellness checks, comfort during the loss of loved ones, and helping members stay connected with First Met. This ministry is by appointment only. Jeff and Deborah Gant
DREAM TEAM ROOM Host our Dream Team members in the DT room by providing food & encouragement during services & special events. On the Sundays members are serving they can refresh with a little food a place to relax. Bea Grant
ECHO ministry reaches unchurched individuals who want to hear God’s message and to keep First Met Members informed of the upcoming events in the life of our church through social media. Mike Walker
EVANGELISM This Ministry seeks to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ through creative and ex-citing outreaches with a spirit of compassion and excellence. This will be done by incorporating special worship services, musicals, plays, in-home visitations, street witnessing, apartment ministry, and others. Ostrova McGary
FIRST MEN We are a band of men devoted to connecting men to a commitment to God and each other, to excellence, leadership, visibility, and to tangible accomplishment through relevant ministry. This will be accomplished through modeling, mentoring, ministering, maturing, and mastering. Chris Butler
FLAGS OF FIRE Ministering God’s Word through flags, banners, and dance to elevate the praise and worship experience. For women at least 18 years old who have a heart for worship flagging, dance, the performing arts, and/or sewing. Andrea McMillian

GIRL SCOUTS Girl Scouts discover their strengths, passions, and talents. They also learn to overcome obstacles and how to make good life choices. Our sole purpose is to provide a platform for our girls to change the world through positive experiences. Our troops and are open to ANY girls in the surrounding area. GOD’S LITTLE DAUGHTERS The group is focused on imparting wisdom and transforming the lives of females ages 7 to 12. God’s Little Daughters mentors build lasting, trusting relationships and provide girls with the skills and knowledge to be confident as God’s daughters. Jackie Dugas
GREETERS The Greeter ministry exists to serve others, setting a welcoming, inviting atmosphere throughout our time on campus. INTERNATIONAL AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST The International Ambassadors for Christ ministry mission is to spread the goodness of Jesus Christ in nations outside of the United States and to encourage the First Met body to be moved to action by Praying, Giving, and/or Going out into the international mission fields. Focus is on International Missions, being conscious to provide opportunities that allow non-traveling members to participate and engage. Lynette Francois
LEADERSHIP ACADEMY We are committed to providing First Met Leaders with the training they need to lead and guide God’s people into a consistent and concise understanding and application of Doctrine at First Metropolitan Church. The goal of the Doctrine’s teaching is to equip the leaders of First Met with the biblical truths of church doctrine, so they can consistently lead their ministries, teach, train, and lead others. LIGHTHOUSE COUNSELING LCC offers a ministry of service to and for individuals and families that provides help, hope, and healing to their total well-being. Its primary focus is to lead them to become fully developing followers of Christ through biblically-based counseling. This ministry is designed to promote business and the exchange of goods and services between other Christian professionals and church congregants. NEW MEMBERS The New Members Ministry welcomes new members to FMC by encouraging a growing/maturing relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ through (1) Establishing a relationship with Jesus Christ; (2) Identifying and developing spiritual gifts; (3) Applying Biblical instruction for daily living; (4) Charting a path toward spiritual growth. PARKING LOT This ministry directs traffic in the parking lot during Sunday services, ensures the proper use of handicapped parking, allocates space near the sanctuary for visitors, and promotes safety in the parking lot.
PERFORMING ARTS MINISTRY Performing Arts Ministry is a ministry where we use our God-given gifts and talents to minister in creative expression. The areas are Choir, musical instruments, dance, and drama. These arts are used during church services, on the streets, and at various events and occasions. Xavier Gilstrap

- Music Ministry serves the purposes of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ through song, encouraging believers in their walk with Christ, leading the congregation in worship, and providing an avenue through which individuals may share their gift and be an integral part of the worship experience. The Music Ministry spreads the Word of God through musical expressions.
- MUSICIAN AND MEDIA TEAM
- The Musician and Media Team uses skillful singing and musical composition to usher in an atmosphere of worship that prepares the spirit of individuals to commune with the triune God, and the hearts of individuals to receive the seed (Word of God) planted by the preacher.

SOLID GROUND Solid Ground is available for any parents with small children (infants to 3 years old). We believe that the worship experience is vitally important therefore our staff is on hand to assist parents with their children so that they are free to be impacted by the worship experience. WAFJ WAFJ is our annual Women’s Conference that provides biblically sound, trustworthy, and fun events for women of all ages. YOUNG ADULT (ROOTED) This Young adult ministry is led by the Holy Spirit, seeks to provide spiritual nourishment, inspiration, and guidance to adults ages 25 to 40. The ministry, which includes those that are single, married, widowed, divorced, and with or without children, encourages proper spiritual and moral principles to empower Christians to live as disciples of Jesus Christ.
